The length of a rectangular backyard is 7 feet less than four times its width. If the area of this garden is 15 ft2, find the length of the garden?

w(4w-7) = 15
Now, 15=3x5, so try w=3. In that case, the length is 5.

Algebraically,

4w^2 - 7w - 15 = 0
(4w+5)(w-3) = 0
w = 3 or -5/4
