Easier example is HF.
H atomic mass = 1
F atom mass = 19
HF molar mass = 20
%Hydrogen = (1/20)*100 = 5%
%Fluorine = (19/20)*100 = 95%
Note that 5% + 95% = 100%
H2SO4:
H = 1 and 2*1 = 2
S = 32
O = 16 and 4*16 = 64
molar mass = 2+32+64 = 98
%hydrogen = (2/98)*100 = 2.04%
%sulfur = (32/98)*100 = 32.65%
%oxygen = (64/98)*100 = 65.31%
Note that 2.04 + 32.65 + 65.31 = 100%
