You are in a speedboat on a river moving in the same direction as the current. The speedometer on the boat shows that its speed is 50 km/h. However, a person on the shore meansures the boat's speed as 57 km/h. How is this possible?
The answer is somehow related to the speed of the current but i am confused.

Thank you for using the Jiskha Homework Help Forum. The speed of the current must be faster than the boat's speed. How was the measurement being taken = could it be the speed of the current?
