A dropping ball initial at rest is dropped 1.5m; calculate a) the traveling time of the ball and b) its velocity just before reaching the ground.

a) Height H = (g/2) t^2, so
t = sqrt(2H/g) = sqrt(3/9.8) = 0.553 s
b) g*H = V^2/2, so
V = sqrt(2 g H)
= sqrt(2*9.8*1.5)
= 5.4 m/s
