If 2 is a root
3(4) -5(2) + c = 0
12 - 10 + c = 0
so
c = -2
and we have
3 x^2 - 5 x - 2 = 0
now if x = 2 is a root, the expression can be divided by (x-2)
so it factors
(3x+1)(x-2) = 0
3x+1 = 0
x = -1/3
3(4) -5(2) + c = 0
12 - 10 + c = 0
so
c = -2
and we have
3 x^2 - 5 x - 2 = 0
now if x = 2 is a root, the expression can be divided by (x-2)
so it factors
(3x+1)(x-2) = 0
3x+1 = 0
x = -1/3
