WHY WOULD PLANT CELLS HAVE 1 LARGE CENTRAL VACUOLE AND NOT SEVERAL SMALL ONES LIKE IN AN ANIMAL CELL?

Plants have to do photosynthesis which uses water, mainly found in vacuoles, however I do not know why animals have vacuoles.
