Unfortunately, I did that (15)(60)+(15)(40) and came up with 1500..which is way to big of a distance, any suggestions past this point?
unfortunately there are no brackets or parenthesis to show which to do first...
it looks just like this:
36 +9 / 3x5
there are no parenthesis it is just a line of numbers with the signs...
thank you...
happy to be correct once in a while...
thank you!
thank you!
It's called "pathetic fallacy," and it was coined by John Ruskin.
thank you!
how did u get 30?
i'm learning about the things needed in a civilization in Social Studies, and I need to know what social structure is and a modern day object or thing that could represent it.
i learned this in 4th grade too, 2 years ago... i sort of forget it, but ill give it a shot. Rotation is when you rotate something, so its at a different angle, reflection is when the shape or dimension is the reflection of itself,( basically backwards), and translation is the thing i forget, so i'd just check the dictionary for that one. By that way, id just check the other two just in case! :)
So an open circle is > or < ? Just to make sure I understood that right.
Thank you sooo much for your help now it all makes sence!!!! ;))
Please explain how i would do this.
8 1/9 - 1 6/7 =?
i don't think so...
thank you Bobpursley, I get it now...
Good night
okay begnning algebra do u know how to do it??

ha thanks! :]
i just found it in my book too!
sorry for not clarifying but by literacy focus i mean the lesson plans try to target reading, creative writing, and comprehension skills
For grade 4
ICl2- is Linear because the Cl bind at the top and bottom, and around the center there are 3 sets of Lone Pair Electrons. there is a negative sign, so you must add a set of LP electrons. So yes, Its Trigonal Bipyrmidal- if you go by the total electron density locations, but, its linear because the Cl atoms stay in linear formation with the 3 sets of LP electrons around center of the central I atom.
I am doing this for my Literacy class. our goal is not to create a unit but to find a unit and to evaluate whether or not that unit caters to the needs of the students it targets especially in terms of literacy....
ok the question is [(x+1) divided by (x+3)(x-3)] plus [4(x-3) divided by (x-3)(x+3)] plus [(x-1)(x-3) divided by (3-x)(x+3)] i am not really sure how else to explain it. it is adding rational expression with 3 different fractions all added together. i need to get a common denominator. please if possible show me how you get the answer.. sorry if you cant understand it
can you please show me how you get this that's what the book says but that is not what i get...sorry for the trouble.. i want to understand it too not just have an answer
i get the a^2-b^2 / a-b... how does that turn into (a+b)
wouldnt that make the bottom one be (x-3)(x-3) since you would have to multiply both of the bottom terms by -1
Thank you so so much!
I felt the same way too Susan.. I don't think it gave me the definition I was looking for.
Thanks drwls. I came to the same conclusion after racking my brain over it for some time. I made the problem more difficult than it really was. Thanks again for responding.
The part is the root .
This is my problem:
A proton is propelled east with a speed of 2.1e6 m/s to a region where there is a magnetic field of strength 5 T directed perpendicularly out of the paper. Calculate the radius of the resulting circular trajectory of the proton. A proton has a mass of 1.67e-27 kg and a charge of 1.67e-19 C.
So I am looking for the radius of the loop, right? The formula I have is torque=current*area*strength*sin theta
I need to know torque or the total are to find the radius, right? How do I do that?
what do you need to trake down a hurrican
multiply 2 by 2
sorry about that in other words i need to make up a story where the words snake and desk are both connected

The United States, like most presidential systems, emphasizes liberal ideals. Their system has more checks on government power based on fear of excessive government control of society.
Doesnt government control mean the same kind of thing as a dictatorship? I know the US isnt going to become a dictatorship but i thought that the president ultimately makes most of the decisions.
the problems we discussed are :
1.preserving human nature
2.preservation of govt
3.ambition of people/self interest
I believe that Federalists opposed factions more than Anti-federalists because in Federalist Paper No.#10, Federalists were extremely against factions. They feared factions because they believed that factions would destroy the government. The Anti-Federalists on the other had wanted more public opinion and encouraged participation of the citizens. They did not believe in a big powerful, centralized national government, and thus, did not believe in a huge republic, therefore, they did not believe that factions would destroy the republic.
Am I right?
What do you think?
uhh cant find the answer either flvs suxs!

that's what i don't get, if you increase foreign assets, it means you pay out money right? Would the reserves decrease?
So, if you use that equation, you get 0.01095 M for NH3. You multiply that by 0.500L to get the number of moles, and you get 0.005477 mol NH3. Since your ratios are all the same then NH4HS is also 0.005477 mols. Then you multiply that by 51.1g/mol to get the mass of NH4HS. I got 0.28 g of NH4HS but that's not right, so I was wondering if there's anything wrong in my work
Never mind! I got the answer, I was using 115.69 g/mol rather than 151.09 g/mol for PH3BCl3 (I calculated it for 2 Cl atoms rather than 3)
If you say the length is 2x and the width is x, you get
(2x)(x)=200
so x=10
length is 2x so = 20 yd
width is x = 10 yd

STEPS REQUIRED FOR A MULTICULTURAL EDUCATION TO BE EFFECTIVE
According to J.A. Banks there are steps required for a multicultural classroom to be effective. They are the following:
1. A multicultural education policy statement sanctions and supports diversity.
2. The staff has positive attitudes and expectations toward diverse students.
3. The school staff reflects ethnic and cultural diversity.
4. The curriculum is transformational and action-focused.
5. Parent participation provides a cultural context for teaching and a link with student personal/cultural knowledge.
6. Teaching strategies are constructivist, personalized, empowering, and participatory.
7. Teaching materials present diverse racial, ethnic, and cultural perspectives on events, concepts, and issues.
8. Each program component is monitored on a continuing basis.
A policy statement is a formal document outlining the ways an organization intends on conducting affairs and how the organization will act in specific circumstances. A school districts policy statement allows multicultural education in the classroom. Through programs that are created to allow equal opportunities for everyone. The goal of the policy statement is to provide the students with an equal opportunity to learn. Also to communicate with parents and the public on how important a multicultural education is to the school district.
The staff must maintain positive attitudes and expectation toward diverse students. Teachers sometimes have to learn to adapt to low-income students and students of color to discover their hidden and underdeveloped abilities. Teachers must look beyond challenges such as health, motivation, and educational needs of students to find their academic talent. Sometimes these talents are not shown on test scores. If students see positive attitudes coming from a teacher then they will likely have a positive attitude.
The school staff should be diverse. It should represent society, so that the students are able to understand that society values and respects people from different racial and ethnic backgrounds. This should be in the school districts policy to hire and promote people of different gender, racial, and ethnic groups.
The curriculum should have a transformational and social approach. The curriculum should include concepts, events, issues, and problems from different ethnic perspectives and points of view.
School systems should have realistic ways that allow parents to get involved. Noninvolvement in all cases does not mean that the parents are not interested. Work or specific times may not allow parents to be involved. The teacher should take it upon themselves to discuss with parents to find this information out.
Teaching strategies should include plenty of time for the students to interact with each other. In the curriculum students should be allowed to have time to express their feelings with peers. This will allow the children to learn by expressing different perspectives.
Teaching materials must present diverse racial, ethnic, and cultural perspectives on events, concepts, and issues. It is not enough for textbooks to contain this information; teachers should include this as a fundamental part of discussions.
Each program component is monitored on a continuing basis. The monitoring should help to reinforce that multicultural education is a priority to the school and to insure all teachers of their role in the program.

TYPES OF ACTIVITIES
There are several activities that a teacher could incorporate into a classroom that would support a multicultural education for everyone. A few activities that I would try are a “show and tell” day. Fridays tend to be a fun day so once a month I would have a day set aside for the students to bring in something that is special to them; it could be something like a picture, or a toy. I would start the first month with sharing something of my own. For example, I would show a birthday card that is special to me. This would let the children know that it is not about the expensive things in life but about the meaning. Another activity could be the name game. The students would find out what the meaning of their name is and why their parent chose that name. For example, my mom chose my name because when I was born it was number one on the most popular baby names in a baby name book. My name means ash-tree and is of English origin. In the United Kingdom my name is unisex although in the US it is better known as a female name. This will allow each student to show some culture and encourage parental involvement. The students could also do a parade as an activity. Each student could take a shoe box and decorate it with items from their culture. The students could paint, color, or glue items on the box. Then attach a string and have a parade showing off their shoe box. I would even incorporate an assignment to allow the students to learn from each other. I would have the students write a short essay explaining why they decorated the box the way that they did. Then they could do a presentation showing their box and reading their assignment. I would do a follow-up by allowing the students to do another assignment comparing and contrasting some of the different cultures in the class. There are many other activities that could be incorporated into a classroom to support a multicultural education.

Ok I figured it out I think but it is complicated the first part I had to take the numbers out and tabs to mark new paragraphs.
Am I on the rigth track or way off??? :)
Read the following scenario: You are a second-grade teacher at Happy Valley Elementary School. You are teaching language arts and social studies. Your classroom of 21 students consists of 7 white students, 5 Latino students, 4 African American students, 3 Native American students, and 2 Asian students. Four of your students are identified as special needs, with one in a wheelchair. A few of your students come from the poorest neighborhood in Happy Valley.
Write a 700-1,050 word paper in which you outline the steps required for a multicultural education to be effective. Describe types of activities you would incorporate into your classroom that would support a multicultural education for all groups in this class. How could each group make a contribution to the learning of others? Be sure to follow APA guidelines.

I would do a follow-up by allowing the students to do another assignment comparing and contrasting some of the different cultures in the class. There are many other activities that could be incorporated into a classroom to support a multicultural education.
Am I on the rigth track or way off??? :)

Miss Logan i tried yours first and looked back in the reading and this is what I came up with:
The organization of nearly all schools is by classrooms, with the principal being the line authority. At district levels, each school reports to the superintendent. However, policies are established by the school board. The school board usually consists of teachers, parents, and community representatives. The purpose of the school board is to give these individuals a voice in the schools governance.
All schools, pulic and private, are under the authority of the state, including the state board of education and the state legislature.
The state and district agencies do have influence in making policy and curriculum decisions at local levels. But I feel the federal government has the most influence. The No Child Left Behind Act is an example of federal government being involved in school systems. The NCLB act includes many mandates to states and school districts. Through the NCLB the federal government holds the state and districts accountable for their actions. In other words everything flows down hill and in this case it starts with the Federal Government. This is why I believe the Federal government has the most influence on local level.
thank you
In the Introduction I am also going to define what high-stakes tests commonly known as state mandated tests are.
Now I have to do an annotated bibliongraphy with this as part of this weeks assignment. If I post the bibliography will you give me feedback? Do you know some reliable sources with information on state mandated tests?
Thank you
