and then i need help filling these in:

The sentences look pretty good. For the first sentence, you could say en el verano pasado so the reader knows you're talking about last summer, the past. In the second sentence, you need to say el carro. Carro is masculine.

Thank you for using the Jiskha Homework Help Forum, both of you! I like Jim's idea of "El verano pasado" but you don't even need the "en." The word "la excursión" is feminine. Fuimos en una excursión. The indefinite article (un, una, etc.) means a, an while the definite article (el, la, etc.) means "the" one and only. You could substitute "viaje" if you simply want to say "trip." Another verb for "to pack" is "empaquetear."

Accent on dólares.

took one hour = tomó una hora.

Disneyland = Disneylandia,
