A piece plywood 24 inches wide is cut into strips 2 and a half inches wide, how many strips of this with can be cut. Please help,7th grade.

how many times does 2.5 go into 24?

24/2.5 = 24 / (5/2) = 24 * 2/5 = 48/5 = 9 3/5

so, 9 strips plus some left over
