For the function f(x)=-2x^2-6x-7 find:

a) an equivalent equation in the form f(x)=a(x-h)^2+k
b)the maximum or minimum (also decide which)

please help and thank you

f(x) = -2x^2 - 6x - 7
= -2(x^2 + 3x) - 7
= -2(x^2 + 3x + 9/4) - 7 + 2(9/4)
= -2(x - 3/2)^2 - 5/2

I'm sure you can answer the questions from that.
why 9/4???
nevermind I figure it out and thank you for your help
