A golf ball is hit with an initial velocity of 50 m/s at an angle of 45 degrees with the horizontal. How far will it travel horizontally before it hits the ground?

For initial velocity V and a launch angle A, the horizontal distance travelled is
X = 2 sin A cos A (V^2/g)
=(V^2/g) sin 2A
In this case, sin 2A = 1.
