Substitute x-9 from the first equation into the second equation for y to obtain
x+2(x-9)=3
x+2x-18=3
3x=21
x=7
Now substitute x=7 into the first equation to evaluate y and you will have the point.

I still don't completely understand how you got x=7 forgive me for being slow, just never liked math.

OH i get it, ah alright. Now to get y=x-9 i just plug in x=7 right? and would leave me with y= -2 right? and it would look like this
y=7-9 and y=-2
y=7-9 and y=-2

right.
So the point is x=7 and y=-2 or (7,-2).
