sin (x - pi/4) =
[(sqrt 2)sin x]/2 - [(sqrt 2)cos x]/2
When x = pi/4, y = 0.
When x=0, y = -(sqrt 2)/2
You can also just plot a sine wave on shifted coordinates, treating x = pi/4 y = 0 as the new origin
