Stripped of its summer wealth
can the bough be wan as a root
go dingy in spells of frost
untrimmed of its bird its fruit?

no- trees go wild at the thougt
they know what they meant to do
wild trees, gone out of your head
do you burn to go sout too?

what is the figure of speech used in the second stanza. Thanks
