in each case find the LCD , then multiply each term by that.

I will do the #2
5/(2x-1) = 1 - (8x-16)/(10x-5)
5/(2x-1) = 1 - (8x-16)/(5(2x-1) )
LCD = 5(2x-1)

5/(2x-1)*5(2x-1) = 1*5(2x-1) - (8x-16)/(5(2x-1) )*5(2x-1)
25 = 10x - 5 - (8x-16)
14 = 2x
x = 7
