During electrophoresis, protons


move in the same direction as DNA.
do not move at all.
move in the opposite direction as DNA.
move randomly.


I am thinking they move in the same direction as DNA or am I wrong?



DNA travels in accordance with its principal charge, negative, the charge of the phosphate dominated skeleton. Protons are positive.


so the correct response would be that they "move in the opposite direction as DNA"
