You need to read about Dalton's Law. Dalton said that each gas of a mixture exerts its pressure independent of the others. Said another way,
Ptotal = Pagas + Pbgas + Pcgas + Pdgas.......
Ptotal = Pagas + Pbgas + Pcgas + Pdgas.......
