Hi, how can I solve this equation using algebra? y= 9x+50, many thanks

If you want an equation for x in terms of y, subtract 50 from both sides and then divide both sides by 9.
That is not reaaly "solving" for x; you are just rearranging an equation. To get a numerical value for x (and y), you need a second independent equation.

ok thanks, I also have to solve y=9x+100 as part of the question, is this what you meant by a second independent equation?
