Ok, how about this one? A solution contains ammonium ions and calcium along with some anions, how would you separate the ammonium ions from the calcium??

Two ways depending upon what you want in the pure state.
1. Add oxalate ions and ppt the Ca and CaC2O4.
2. Add NaOH and drive the NH3 gas off.
