Solve for X and Y in the following problems using either substitution or elimination methods.
2X + 5Y = 19 , 3X + 3Y = 15
4X + Y = 22 , 2X + 3Y = 16
12X + Y = 174 , 8X - 2Y = 36
2X + 5Y = 19 , 3X + 3Y = 15
4X + Y = 22 , 2X + 3Y = 16
12X + Y = 174 , 8X - 2Y = 36

Substitution method
2X + 5Y = 19 , 3X + 3Y = 15
X = (19-5Y)/2
Substitute that value for X in the second equation and solve for Y. Put the value of Y into the first equation to solve for X. To check, put both values into the second equation.
Use the same method for the remaining equations.
2X + 5Y = 19 , 3X + 3Y = 15
X = (19-5Y)/2
Substitute that value for X in the second equation and solve for Y. Put the value of Y into the first equation to solve for X. To check, put both values into the second equation.
