I'm doing a problem, and it says "Robert has a piece of twine that is 3/4 yard long. He needs a piece of twine that is 2/3 of this length. How long of a piece of twine does robert need?"

Multiply 3/4 by 2/3 to get the piece Robert needs:
(3/4) * (2/3) = ?
If you don't have a calculator, cross multiply so the 3s cancel out and the 2 goes into the 4 twice...leaving you with an answer of?

I mean the piece he has is 1/2 yard long, not half of the 3/4-yard one. oops sorry! lol
