Question

A box of mass 11.9 kg is pulled to the right with a horizontal force of 11.3 N. The box moves to the right with constant velocity, 1.6 m/s. Determine the amount of working the pulling force and the normal force do if the box moves 5.7 m.

Work = (F)(displacement)

11.3 * 5.7 m = work in x direction

there is no acceleration, so we use to 11.3 N value * displacement 5.7m in the x direction

no displacement in the y direction, so no work in that direction
