I'm doing an informative paper on music. I need to figure out when music started(year/century) and i need to know what type of music and what instruments were used durring that time. I'm look on the internet but i keep getting mutiple answers and i'm so confused. Can you help?

We don't know much about the earliest music as it happened in prehistoric times -- before writing. We assume that the earliest people had music of some sort. The flute was perhaps the oldest instrument, after the human voice. Check these sites for more information.
