since the km/L ratio stays the same,
x/12 = 42/7
so just find x
x/12 = 42/7
so just find x
x = 12(42/7) = 72 km
(that's about 17 L/100km, awful consumption rate, I get about 8.5 on my Hyundai SUV)
By dividing the distance traveled (42 km) by the amount of petrol consumed (7 liters), we can find the fuel efficiency:
Fuel efficiency = Distance traveled / Petrol consumed
Fuel efficiency = 42 km / 7 liters
Fuel efficiency = 6 km/liter
Now that we know the fuel efficiency is 6 kilometers per liter, we can apply it to 12 liters of petrol to find out how far the car would travel:
Distance traveled = Fuel efficiency * Petrol consumed
Distance traveled = 6 km/liter * 12 liters
Distance traveled = 72 km
Therefore, the car will travel 72 kilometers on 12 liters of petrol.
