You can't take the area of points!
What you want is the area and perimeter of the rectangle formed by the points.
Surely you plotted the points.
Surely you noticed that the line segments are horizontal and vertical so
it is easy to find the base and the height of the rectangle, (just count)
e.g. the x goes from -4 to +4, so how long is the base ?
etc
