Write the standard form equation of the parabola that passes through (-6,-12), if vertex at the origin and axis of symmetry is vertical.

not exactly trig, but okay ...
since the vertex is at the origin,
y = ax^2
so now, all you need to do is to find the value of a, using
36a = -12
that gives you
y = -1/3 x^2
