Since there is a plus sign between the two parentheses, add the like terms.
2b^2 + b^2 = 3b^2
-b + 4b = 3b
3b^2 + 3b - 4

2b^2 + b^2 = 3b^2
-b + 4b = 3b
3b^2 + 3b - 4
