A weight of 32 lb, is placed 7 1/2 ft from the fulcrum of a lever. To balance the lever what weight should be placed onthe other side at a distance of 8 ft from the fulcrum?

w1(d1) = w2(d2), were w1 and d1 are the weight and distance on one side
and w2 and d2 are the weight and distance on the other side of the lever.

8w = (32)(7.5)
w = 32(7.5)/8 = 30
