Just draw a input-output table. It's not easy but oh, well.

Just do your "input-output" table , also called a table of values
x | y
0 1
1 4
2 7
etc
Since you know this is a straight line (that's why it is called
a linear function) , just pick any two points, plot them,
join them with an extended line, and you are done
e.g. plot (0,0) and (2,7), draw the line
