A 3kg block is pulled to the right, by a 15N force, applied at an angle of 30° to the horizontal. The surface has a coefficient of kinetic friction of 0,2.

1.Draw a freebody diagram.

2.Calculating a normal force.

15 cos 30 to the right = 13 N
15 sin 30 up = 7.5 N
normal force on ground= m g - 7.5 = 3*9.81 - 7.5 = 21.9 N
friction force back = mu m g = 0.2 * 21.9 = 4.4 N back
net force forward = 13 - 4.4
