The sum of Jason's and Elton's ages is 30 years. Jason is 8 years older than Elton. How old is Elton?

what i would do is divide 30 by 2, which is 15. then, since they are 8 apart, find 15-4 and 15+4. those are the two numbers they are 8 apart and =30.
