I think I got it...so the equation would look like 1/3(t)+1/4(t)+1/5(t)+8+5=total #??
Okay so after isolating "t" on one side of the equation I came up with 47/60(t)=t-13...after subtracting "t"...I got -13/60(t)=-13..after doing the division found out t=60!..think its right because I plugged it back into my orginal equation and found 1/4,1/5/,1/3 plus 8 and 5 equals 60...did I get it right?!

A loaded ore car has a mass of 880 kg and rolls on rails with negligible friction. It starts from rest and is pulled up a mine shaft by a cable connected to a winch. The shaft is inclined at 28.0° above the horizontal. The car accelerates uniformly to a speed of 2.20 m/s in 11.5 s and then continues at constant speed What maximum power must the winch motor provide?
At what altitude above Earth's surface would the gravitational acceleration be 3.0 m/s2?

Icebergs in the North Atlantic present hazards to shipping, causing the length of shipping routes to increase by about 30 percent during the iceberg season. Attempts to destroy icebergs include planting explosives, bombing, torpedoing, shelling, ramming, and painting with lampblack. Suppose that direct melting of the iceberg, by placing heat sources in the ice, is tried. How much heat is required to melt 14 percent of a 2.40×105 metric-ton iceberg? One metric ton is equal to 103 kg. Assume that the iceberg is at 0°C. (Note: To appreciate the magnitude of this energy, compare your answer to the Hiroshima atomic bomb which had an energy equivalent to about 15,000 tons of TNT, representing an energy of about 6.0×1013 J.)
that it equals 60 minutes?
But wouldnt that actually factor into (x-10)(x+45) which would imply that the positive value for x is actually 10. plugging that back into the problem, that means she can go 30 miles at 10 miles per hour and 20 miles at 25 miles per hour to arrive at 50 miles in an hour? how can she go 30 miles at 10 miles per hour? the speed doesnt seem correct here.
jasons age + eltons age =30 years eltons age = x jasons age = x+8 therefore: x+x+8=30 2x=22 x=11 plug into problem elton is 11 jason is 19 combined age is 30

Is it possible that the equation should have been set up as: 30miles(xmiles/per 1 hour) + 20miles (x+15/per 1 hour) = ? Im stuck
because the have different surface areas and each of their surface areas resist air differently. Air is not weightless and has an average weight of .0807lbs. Therefore two papers falling with different surface areas will respond differently to the same amount of resistance. An example is to compare an man falling with an open parachute, and the same man falling with a closed parachute. The open parachute "catches" air because air has a weight and volume.
