A. 80 J

B. 10 J

C. 40 J

D. 20 J
During a skydiving landing, a parachute deploys from the back of the diver as it taxis back down to the Earth. The parachute helps the diver slow down before landing. How does the parachute help during this process?

A.It increases friction by air resistance.

B.It increases the weight of the diver.

C.It increases heat transfer by radiation.

D.It increases the potential energy of the diver.
If the input force of moving a box up a ramp is 10N and the output force is 30N, what is the mechanical advantage?

A. .33

B. 3

C. 30

D.300
Which of the following scenarios would cause a decrease in magnetic potential energy?

A.A North and a South pole attracting

B.Pulling a North and a South pole apart

C.Forcing two North poles together
THANKS!

Ah, where is your attempt to do these?
by the way, the first one is trivial. work = force times distance moved in direction of the force. Force in Newtons * distance in meters ---> Joules

The first one is a force up of 40 Newtons moving up .5 meters
40 * .5 = 20 Joules

40 * .5 = 20 Joules

The last one is like if you jump off a table toward the center of the earth your Potential energy goes down. If the magnets pull together they will hit fast like you hitting the ground. Their potential energy goes down while their kinetic energy goes up if they attract each other. So it is A
