A photo 12 cm wide and 20 cm long is surrounded with a picture frame 3 cm wide. Find the outside perimeter of the framed picture.

add 2*3 to each dimension
length = 20 + 6 = 26
width = 12 + 6 = 18
so
P = 2*26 + 2*18
length = 20 + 6 = 26
width = 12 + 6 = 18
so
P = 2*26 + 2*18
