solve system using substitution. 2x+2y=38 y=x+3

2x+2y=38
y=x+3

2x + 2(x + 3) = 38
4x + 6 = 38
4x = 32
x = 8

Take it from there.

She took 6 from the left side and 6 from the right side to even it out
