Question
Given angle ABC, find the value of x
A= 82
B= x+4
C= 3x-2; this angle is on the outside of the triangle. I think this is what is throwing me off.

Answers
I'm not sure if you have learned the Exterior Angle of a Triangle Theorem.
It says that the exterior angle is equal to the sum of the two interior and opposite
angles, that is
3x - 2 = 82 + x + 4
solve for x
or, look at the angle at C
if the exterior angle is 3x-2 then the interior angle, (it's supplement) is 180 - (3x-2)
= 182 - 3x
and then 82 + x+4 + 182-3x = 180
you must get the same value for x as above
