Find the inverse of the function.
f(x) = -0.25x + 6
I am having trouble when there is a decimal to solve like -0.25x

You could just convert the decimal to a fraction
and -.25 = -1/4 ( if you have $ 0.25, you have 25 cents which we call "a quarter" )
y = -.25x + 6 -----> y = (-1/4)x + 6
step1 of finding inverse: interchange the x's and y's
----> x = (-1/4)y + 6
step2: solve this inverse equation for y
4x = -y + 24
y = -4x + 24
and -.25 = -1/4 ( if you have $ 0.25, you have 25 cents which we call "a quarter" )
y = -.25x + 6 -----> y = (-1/4)x + 6
step1 of finding inverse: interchange the x's and y's
----> x = (-1/4)y + 6
step2: solve this inverse equation for y
4x = -y + 24
y = -4x + 24
