There are 42 houses on Main Street. Three less than half of the houses are made of brick. Of the rest of the houses,3/4 are painted white and the rest painted other colors. How many are other colors

Half of 42 is 21
So, 21 - 3 = 18 are brick
That leaves 42 - 18 = 24 not brick
3/4 * 24 = 18 are white
24 - 18 = 6 are left
