A train, with an initial velocity of 35ms^-1 along a straight track, deccelerates at a constant 0.25ms^2. Determine how far it travels in 2 minutes.

s(t) = vt + 1/2 at^2
so, using your numbers, with 2 minutes = 120 seconds,
s(120) = 35*120 - 1/2 * 1/4 * 120^2 = 2400m
