I disagree. But maybe your text shows a different form of outlining than what I've always used and taught.

Connections is run by a for-profit company using tax funds.

And for-profit "schools" do things as cheaply as possible with little concern for what is taught as long as they go through the motions.

They also seem to have come up with their own terminology for many things that have been standard in US education for decades.
For example, we're used to the geographic label "southeast Asia," but Connections (no matter what state) seems to thing Southwest Asia is a commonly known part of the world, too. Makes me shake my head. =(

Excuse me Writeacher, Mrs. Sue, and Reed, CA is the best school I've ever been too, I get to excel at my best, and I wont take you talking cr@p about it! First, you should actually go to the school, and see how good it is, 2 you shouldn't sit here gossiping about it, and 3 its quite sad that it takes a 12 year old to point out that you are both acting like socialists! We are taught to be polite from a very young age (at least I thought everyone was), but yet some people just grow up to be absolutely malicious!

tbh, connections isn't the best, and my sister has been laughed at by one of the teachers for crying because of her anxiety, so its got some of its flaws and some not so good teachers i'd say.
