Centerville's population decreased from 37,065 to 26,102. How do I find the percent of change?

Answers

Subtract 26,102 from 37,065.

Divide the difference by its original population.

Estoy bastante seguro de que su división es incorrecta, entiendo el inglés lo suficiente como para ver lo que está diciendo y decirle qué hacer. I wonder if this is proper English. The other parts are in Spanish, welcome!

What I did was 37,065 divided by 26,102 and got 1.42 after that then just move the decimal to the right two times and take away one and I got 42% change.

well what is the answer
Answered by Answer:
37,065 - 26,102 = 10,963
10,963/37,065 = 0.2957
0.2957 = 29.57%

Since you are rounding the percent to the nearest tenth, the percent change would be 29.6%.
