shot putter
initial vertical velocity Vo = 15.5 sin 34 = 8.67
initial and always horizontal velocity U = 15.5 cos 34 = 12.9
initial z = 2.2
final z = 0
acceleration = -9.8
so
0 = 2.2 + 8.67 t -4.9 t^2
t = 2 seconds
in 2 seconds it goes 12.9*2 = 25.8

not exactly. I'm trying to find the iitial velocity, while in the other problem it is given.
