Initial Budget:
$80,000 loan from family
$38,250 small business loan from bank
All loans to be repaid in 10 years
1. You have recently found a location for your bakery and have begun implementing the first phases of your business plan. Your budget consists of an $80,000 loan from your family and a $38,250 small business loan. These loans must be repaid in full within 10 years.
a) What integer would represent your total budget?
b) Twenty-five percent of your budget will be used to rent business space and pay for utilities. Write an algebraic expression that indicates how much money will be spent on business space and utilities. Do not solve.
c) How much money will rent and utilities cost? Explain how you arrived at this answer.
d) Suppose an investor has increased your budget by $22,250. The investor does not need to be repaid. Rather, he becomes part owner of your business. Will the investor contribute enough money to meet the cost of rent and utilities? Support your answer, and write an equation or inequality that illustrates your answer.
e) This equation illustrates your remaining funds after paying for rent and utilities. How much money is left? Explain how you arrived at your answer.
$38,250 + $80,000+ $22,250-0.25($80,000 + $38,250) =

3 3/4 divided by 60,000
3 3/4 * 1/60,000 because you change to the reciprocal
change 3 3/4 to 15/4
SO 15/4 * 1/60,000
I THINK THAT IS CORRECT

warm currents tend to be shallow, narrow curents going in any direction. Cold currents tend to be big, slow, deep currents that follow more of a path. Basically, there are more warm because they are smaller (think of a stram/brook) compared to the cold currents (like a river). Thy both move the same amount of water, but each river moves more than a brook or a stram

John O'Sullivan has just completed his first year in business. His records show that he spent the following in advertising:
Newspaper $500
Radio $800
Yellow Pages $875
Local flyers $650
What percent of John's advertising was spent on the Yellow Pages? (Round to the nearest hundredth percent. Omit the "%" sign in your response.)

you need to take the integral of the force to find the work and then solve for x.
&int -kx = &int 2.7
(-kx2) = 2.7x
solve for x
sorry, didn't write that properly..
(kx2)/2 = 2.7x
you solve for work because the block started from rest and ended at rest. KEf - KEi = Worka + (-Ws)
where Worka = the Work done by the applied force
2&pi is one full rotation around the circle, so you can think of 2&pi as being the same as 0. so 7 pi is the same as going around the circle 3 full times with 1&pi left over, to figure this out exactly you can do the following:
(7/2) = 3 +1/2
the 3 is how many times we went 2&pi around the circle, and what we have left is (1/2)*2&pi or 1&pi
cos(&pi) = -1
To do another example
sin((9/2)&pi)
well (9/2)/2 is the same as (9/2)*(1/2)=(9/4)
we get 2 + 1/4 so we get 2 full rotations plus 1/4 of a full rotation. A full rotation is just 2&pi so:
2&pi*(1/4) = &pi/2
sin(&pi/2) = 1
1. P&prime&prime(R)=0
->gives you the points at which the slope of P(R) changes from increasing to decreasing or vice versa.
2. Plug in a number between the intervals back into P&prime&prime(R)
-> for example if you found:
R= -1 and R = 4
plug in 0 or 1 or 2 or 3 into P&prime&prime if its positive then the slopes are increasing on the interval from (-1, 4)
The amount of paint you need is the exact same amount of area the ornament has.
The problem tells you that the ornament is a sphere, so the formula for area is
A = &pid<sup>2</sup>
since we know d=4cm them we have
A = &pi*(4cm)<sup>2</sup>
A=16cm<sup>2</sup>
Since A = the amount of paint we found the answer 16cm2
x+(1/x) = y
y&prime = 1 - 1/x2
set that equal to zero.
You didn't specify that you were in calculus though, so I'll provide a second way.
x + (1/x) = y
if x = 1, then y = 2
if x = 1/2 then y = 5/4>2
if x = 2 then y = 5/4>2
if x = 1/3 then y = 10/3>2
if x = 3 then y = 10/3>2
you can see that as x gets bigger and smaller then 1 y gets bigger then 2, so when x = 1 you have a minimum value
If expanding;
(2y+5)(y-3)
= 2y^2 - 6y + 5y -15
= 2y^2-y-15

calculate bond order for each and compare using bond order=1/2(no of bonding electrons-no of antibonding electrons) but you must first draw the energy level diagrams
Is the entire equation underneath the square root or just the numerator? If it is just the numerator then here is the answer:
[sqrt((x-1)(x-1)-3)]/[6(x-1)+6]
[sqrt(x^2 -2x+1-3)]/[6x-6+6]
[sqrt(x^2 -2x-2)]/6x
[sqrt(x-1)^2]/6x
x-1/6x
I added brackets to make it easier to distinguish between numerator and denominator. If the whole equation was underneath the square root then the answer would be:
sqrt((x-1)^2)/6x
a.)Sorry but I cant post the link to the graph so you gotta do that part with a calculator
To find average rate of change you need your two points with the given X values [-2,2]. Those points end up being (-2,0) and (2,8). Find the slope:
(8-0)/(2-(-2))=8/4=2
b.) Take derivative of your equation:
f'=2x+2
Since you wanna know where instantaneous rate of change and average rate of change are equal, set your derivative equal to your avg.:
2=2x+2
x=0
Plug your new x value into the original equation to get your coordinates (0,0)
c.)y=2x
They should be parallel.
p.s. I don't know if you need this, but the eqn. of your secant line is y=2x+4
I would say false. It would grow exponentially because if it were linear, you would earn the same amount of interest every year. When you are talking compound interest, as it continues to be compounded year after year, you earn interest off of the interest you already earned. Sorry if I explained that poorly :p
My applied calculus is a little rusty but I think I figured it out.
let x=# of people over 50 that attend
your revenue function would be:
(50+x)(200-2x)
10000+100x-2x^2
Cost function:
6000+32(50+x)
7600+32x
Profit function (subtract the two):
Yp=(-2x^2+100x+10000)-(7600+32x)
simplify
Yp=-2x^2+68x+2400
Take derivative
y'=-4x+68
Set equal to zero and solve
0=-4x+68
4x=68
x=17
But remember we let x equal to number of attendees over 50, so we have to add it to get our total number of people
67 people will maximize your profit
I think your numerator would be positive because you need to multiply -e^-x by the derivative of the exponent which is -1.
Do you just need to bring as much out from under the square root as possible?
If so:
3x^2*sqrt(2x)
First find your slope:
[8-(-7)]/(3-(-2))
(8+7)/(3+2)
15/5=3=slope
Then pick one of the given points and plug that and your slope into your point-slope formula:
y-8=3(x-3)
y=3x-1
Theres your equation :)
The first thing you wanna do is get the y one one side of the equation and everything else on the other side:
y=3x-14
Your slope is always the coefficient for x.
A y-intercept is when the line crosses the y-axis, which happens when x=0.
After you integrate f'', you end up with your "+c" at the end. To solve for this, just plug in your initial values (x=2 and set that whole function equal to 1)
c=-19
f'(x)=(5/2)x^2+5x-19
Follow the same steps:
f(3)=82/3
