you can convert the hours to minutes
14 X 60 = 840 then add the 3 minutes
840 +3 =- 843 then divide

843/3 = 281

then divide by 60 = 4 hours and 41 minutes

I'd convert it to minutes. 14x60=840 (plus the 3 minutes)=843minutes
Divide 843 by 3 = 281minutes
Then convert back to hours and minutes... 281 divided by 60 = 4hr (leave out the decimals since they represent the left over minutes)
4x60=240 (this is the time already accounted for by the hours..)
281-240=41 (this is how many minutes you had left over)
so... 4 hours and 41 minutes.

(similar to the US method of working in miles, yards, feet and inches)

= (13 hrs, 63 min)/3
= 4 1/3 hrs, 21 minutes
= 4 hrs, 20 min , 20 min
= 4 hrs and 41 minutes

or ...
change everything to minutes
= 843/3 minutes
= 281 minutes
= 4 hours, 41 minutes
