Kelly subtracted 2.3 from 20 and got 17.7. Explain why this is reasonable.

This is reasonable because 20 - 2 = 18.
Think about it in terms of money. Your bill comes to $2.30. You give the clerk a $20 bill and she gives you $17 in bills plus some change.

20 - 2 = 18
Subtracting .3 more gives you 17.7.
I hope this helps. Thanks for asking.

It is reasonable because If you subtract 20 - 2 it is 18 and all it is doing is just adding a .3 to the 2 so it would just be subtracting 20 - 2.3 which is no difference and subtracting .3 more would give you the answer 17.7. hope that this gives you an A+ on your homework because I had this on my homework. My age is 10 and I run track, and actually I just won the JR. Olympics in Jacksonville, Florida. Also I was on the NEWS. My birthday is JAN.30,2005.I go to Deca-Prep.

maybe this will help you.
Im in the 5th grade. Im 11 years old.
The answer is reasonable because if you subtract 20-2 you would 18. and subtracting 20-2.3 is just subtracting .3 and your answer would be 17.7 in decimals. as a whole number it would be 17 7/10 or 100.
hope this will help you do your math homework because this site has helped me with my homework right now. thank you and hope someone will give me a thank you to help them with their homework.

if you have 2.3 and you take away the two tenths plus the three others in decimals you will theoretically you will have 17.7.
