Solve this riddle :- my first letter is in chocolate but not in gram. My second letter is in cake and also in jam. My third letter in time table is easily found. My whole name is a friend who's often around. What am I?

This does not work. If you are saying 't' is the most common letter in time table, it is not. The 'e' is used just as much in time table as is 't' I have also heard this riddle using Tea-Time instead of Time Table and it has the same issue. The letter t is used twice and so is the letter e. Perhaps this needs more explanation on why the answer is cat. The only way I see it being 'cat' is if by 'easily found' the riddle is implying that since you already have the first two letters, the most obvious letter next would be t and it really did not matter what phrase was used for the third one. Perhaps that is how we get the answer.

Now see I seen it with the last saying tea-time and explanation for answer being c as in first letter in chocolate a as in second letter in cake and jam and t as in third letter in tea-time but a is third letter in tea-time. I guess I way overthink things because my guess was sugar. Sugar is in chocolate but not in ham usually on ham it is also in cake and jam it is also easily found at tea time and used as a term of endearment so could be used for friend easily found.
