solve by graphing x-2y=8 and x+2y=0

x=8+2y
points (10,1), (12,2)would be graphed

x=0-2y
points (-2,1), (-4,2)would be graphed to form a slope

i got the graphing correct but what would be the solution...how would i write it?

3 answers

4,-2
x = 8 + 2 y right
x = -2 y right
so
8 + 2 y = - 2 y because both are equal to x
so
-4 y = 8
y = -2
then
x = -2 y = 4
so I get they hit at
( 4, -2)
Yes, you did not need help after all :)
