Write the slope-intercept (y = mx + b) form of the equation from the information given.
3. The line goes through the points (8,5) and (9, 6)
~ Can someone please help me? I really don't know how to do this one

First label your coordinates X1 and y1 and x2 and y2. To get the slope of the line use this: m=(y2-y1)/(x2-x1). So m=(6-5)/(9-8). Slope m=1
Then from there choose one of your coordinates let's say we choose (9,6) and we then plug that coordinate and the slope we found into y=mx+b. So 6=1(9)+b. 6=9+b
Then subtract 9 and you get b=-3. Your slope intercept form equation should thus be: y=x-3
