The perimeter of a rectangle picture frame is 30 inches. The length of the frame is three less than twice the width. What are the dimensions of the frame?
I know that the perimeter is 30 in., the length is 2w-3, and the width is w, but I don't know what to do after that?

You have a good start.
P = 2L + 2W
30 = 2(2w - 3) + 2W
30 = 6W - 6
24 = 6W
4 = W
P = 2L + 2W
30 = 2(2w - 3) + 2W
30 = 6W - 6
24 = 6W
