How many boards, each 4 ft by 10 in long, can be cut from a 40 ft board if there is no waste?

It would help if you proofread your questions before you posted them.

Do you really mean "4 ft <B>by</B> 10 in long"? If so, 10 inches is the width. If that is really what you mean 40/4 = 10.
